"markdown": "Ibn Khaldun holds that the extraordinary events that happen to prophets are evidence of their truthfulness: acts that humans cannot match, and so they are called a *mu'jiza* (miracle). {cite:muqaddima-ibn-khaldun p.91-93}\n\nIn his view, the theologians say that they occur by the power of God and not by the act of the prophet, and that the prophet has in them the challenge by God's leave; this is what distinguishes them from the marvel of a saint (*karama*) and from magic. The philosophers hold that the extraordinary event is from the act of the prophet, by the properties of his prophetic soul. {cite:muqaddima-ibn-khaldun p.91-93}\n\nThe greatest of the miracles, in his view, is the Qur'an, because it is the claimed revelation and is itself the extraordinary, inimitable event. {cite:muqaddima-ibn-khaldun p.91-93}"
