In the afternoon Amir Bindar came with a group of emirs and they killed the sultan, and they made Bindar sultan, with the title al-Malik al-Qahir. Then the Khassakiyya, led by Katbugha, met them, and Bindar was routed and killed, and al-Malik al-Nasir was installed. al-Shujai was confirmed as vizier. Then al-Shujai resolved to kill Katbugha, and he besieged him in the citadel, but some of the sultan's mamluks killed him, and people rejoiced at his death. {cite:shadharat-dhahab p. 422}"
