     "markdown": "Ibn al-Jawzi, in \"al-Muntazam\", relates that they plundered what was in it of goods, tore out the doors and wood, demolished some walls and roofs, and dug up the dead. al-Husayn ibn Isma'il, the chief of police of Baghdad, came to them and prevented them from demolishing what was left. He kept coming for days while the common people gathered, until there was fighting between them. Then what they had demolished was rebuilt, and its rebuilding was by the power of Abdun ibn Mukhallad the Christian. {cite:muntazam-ibn-al-jawzi p. 81-82}"
