Ibn al-Athir says that he despised their small number, and gave orders to write the letter of victory and good news before the meeting. They fought on Saturday from the day until sunset. The Qarmatians made for al-Anbar, and its people cut the bridge, so Abu Tahir moved his companions to al-Huwaytha.
