The rebels controlled almost the whole of the Morea within about three weeks, except the fortress of Tripolitsa, which held out for months. The book says they killed Ottoman prisoners and plundered their property. {cite:dawlat-uthmaniyya-salabi p.363-365}\n\nA raid on the patriarchate uncovered documents which, according to the book, implicate the patriarch [[person/gregorios-v-patriarch|Gregory]], who was executed on Easter day. The sultan then called on the army of [[person/ibrahim-pasha-misri|Ibrahim Pasha]], son of Muhammad Ali, who took Navarino in 1240 AH and entered Athens in 1241 AH. {cite:dawlat-uthmaniyya-salabi p.363-365}\n\nThis is the account of a single author and needs an additional source, including the Greek account of events."
