     "markdown": "Ibn Shanabudh was required to repent of reciting the irregular readings, and a record was drawn up against him in the presence of the vizier [[person/ibn-muqla|Abu Ali ibn Muqla]]. {cite:tarikh-khulafa-minhaj-1434 p. 604}\n\nAl-Suyuti says that Ibn Shanabudh invoked God against the vizier that He cut off his hand, and his invocation was answered, so the vizier's hand was cut off and he tasted humiliation.
