The Prophet sent Abd Allah ibn Rawaha with a few of his companions, among them [[person/abdullah-ibn-unays|Abd Allah ibn Unays]], an ally of the Banu Salima. When they came to him, they spoke with him, flattered him and said: if you come to the Messenger of God, he will employ you and honour you. They kept at him until he went out with them with some Jewish men, and Ibn Unays set him on his camel. {cite:ibn-hisham-saqqa 4/266} When they were at al-Qarqara, six miles from Khaybar, al-Yasir regretted his journey. Ibn Unays noticed him reaching for his sword, so he drove his camel forward and struck him with his sword and cut off his leg. Al-Yasir struck him with a crooked stick of shawhat wood and wounded his head.
