     "markdown": "Abd al-Hamid ibn Yahya was secretary to Marwan ibn Muhammad. In al-Baladhuri, he used to say of Salih ibn Abd al-Rahman, who transmitted the register of the diwan: \"May God bless him, how great is his favour to the secretaries.\" {cite:futuh-buldan-maarif-1407}\n\nIn al-Suyuti, the well-known secretary Abd al-Hamid, known as Buwsir, was killed together with Marwan. {cite:tarikh-khulafa-minhaj-1434 p.421} Ibn al-Nadim reports that he was first a schoolmaster who moved between towns; the writers of letters learned from him and were trained by his method, and he made the way to eloquence in letters easier. He was from al-Sham, and his letters amount to about a thousand leaves. {cite:fihrist-ibn-al-nadim p.170}"
