     "markdown": "Al-Tayyib ibn Afif al-Din Abd Allah ibn Ahmad Makhrama al-Adani al-Shafii, a learned imam and hadith scholar. He was born in Aden on the night of Sunday, the twelfth of Rabi al-Akhir in the year 870. He studied with his father and with the jurist Muhammad ibn Ahmad Fadl, whose circle he attended constantly. He mastered many branches of knowledge and excelled in them, and he took up teaching and issuing fatwas {cite:shadharat-dhahab p. 684}."

     "markdown": "He was among the sharpest and most quick-witted people, with excellent understanding and very good teaching. It is recorded that he never saw anyone teach better or solve difficult problems in jurisprudence as well as he did. Later in life he became the main authority for fatwas in Aden. He used to say: \"I teach fourteen sciences.\" He also served as judge of Aden. His works include a commentary on Sahih Muslim, a book on the names of the narrators of Muslim, a long history arranged by generations and years, beginning from the first year of the Hijra, and a very useful book on the attribution of people to their cities. He died in Aden on the sixth of Muharram, and by his own wish he was buried in the tomb of his maternal grandfather, the judge and scholar Muhammad ibn Mas'ud Abu Shukayl, in the dome of Shaykh Jawhar {cite:shadharat-dhahab p. 684}."
