     "markdown": "Al-Mas'udi reports that he had them cross their river to receive al-Mughira as an envoy. He seated him on his throne with his crown in his splendour, with the sons of kings in two rows. Al-Mughira kept piercing their carpets with his spear to anger them, then leapt up and sat with the king on his throne. They pulled him down, and he said: \"We do not treat your envoys in this way.\" {cite:muruj-al-dhahab p.618}"
