     "markdown": "Yusuf ibn Ahmad ibn Hud, lord of Zaragoza, sent him to seize Valencia. He entered it and made a treaty with its judge, Ibn Jahhaf. He stipulated that he must bring a treasure that belonged to al-Qadir ibn Dhi al-Nun, and the latter swore that it was not with him. When it was found in his possession, Rodrigo burned him with fire. {cite:nafh-tib-maqqari p.455-456}\n\nHe took Valencia in 488 AH, though some say it was the year before. Ibn al-Abbar held that his siege of it lasted twenty months. {cite:nafh-tib-maqqari p.455-456}\n\nAmong those burned in it was the man of letters Abu Ja'far ibn al-Bunni.
