He belonged to the fourth class of the people of Kufa and was a jurist. {cite:fihrist-ibn-al-nadim p.76}.\n\nHe died in 156 AH in the caliphate of Abu Ja'far. He wrote a book on the reading of Hamza and a book on the laws of inheritance.
