     "markdown": "Hasanwayh ibn al-Husayn al-Kurdi al-Barzikani, commander of an army of Barzikan known as the Barziniyya. Together with his two brothers, Nadad and Ghanim, the sons of Ahmad, he held the regions of Dinawar, Nihawand, Samirra and parts of Azerbaijan up to the border of Shahrazur for about fifty years. {cite:kamil-ibn-al-athir p. 517-518}\n\nIbn al-Athir describes him as wise in policy and conduct, controlling his affairs, restraining his men from plunder, and generous in charity in the two Holy Cities.
