     "markdown": "Al-Zahir Jaqmaq once appointed him chief judge of Egypt, and he declined. Among his pupils were Fakhr al-Din al-Maqdisi, Burhan al-Din ibn Zahira the judge of Mecca, and Nur al-Din ibn Abi al-Yaman.
