Al-Salabi says that the Ottomans halted the advance of the Russians in Moldavia and the advance of Austria in Bosnia, Serbia and Wallachia, and defeated the Serbs and the Austrian armies, which withdrew. Austria then asked for peace through France, and the Treaty of Belgrade was signed in 1152 AH (1739 CE), in which it gave up Belgrade and the lands of Serbia and Wallachia.
