Mangol Bayat (Iran's First Revolution, 1991, p. 43) supports only a pathway — that he very likely became a Babi in Tehran through his devotion to Haj Sheikh Hadi Najmabadi, himself 'declared heretical for his alleged Azali Babist sympathies'. The Babi attestation thus rests on ONE scholarly tradition (Keddie), with Bayat circumstantial; it does not meet the two-independent-sources bar for any value, and the faith enum carries no Babi value of its own.
