He was severe in denouncing wrong, gave lessons and dictations in which he issued sound fatwas, and wrote chancery prose including fine royal narratives — among them the book *al-Nur* and his commentary on it in *al-Kafi*, which he named *al-Kafiya* and in which he went deep.
