     "markdown": "Shah Armen, lord of Khilat, appointed him to raise the son of his own freedman, Husam al-Din Bulq Arslan, and to manage his realm. Ibn al-Athir describes him as devout, good, just, and of good conduct. He raised the boy well and married the boy's mother {cite:kamil-ibn-al-athir p.129}."

     "markdown": "When the boy grew up, Nizam did not let him take control of his realm. His mamluk Lu'lu', who had come to dominate the state, pushed him to act as he did. When the boy died, Nizam made his younger brother ruler in name only, while rule remained with Nizam and Lu'lu' until 601 AH {cite:kamil-ibn-al-athir p.129}.\n\nWhen Nizam fell ill, Qutb al-Din came to visit him. He struck Lu'lu' with a knife and killed him, then killed Nizam, and threw the two heads to the soldiers, who submitted to him {cite:kamil-ibn-al-athir p.129}."
