     "markdown": "Sa'id ibn Humayd, a secretary in the time of al-Mutawakkil. al-Mas'udi reports that he worked against al-Fath ibn Khaqan before al-Mutawakkil, and that al-Mutawakkil exiled al-Fath. He also reports that Sa'id affected piety and showed deviation from Ali ibn Abi Talib, and that some said he was of Magian descent {cite:muruj-al-dhahab p.528-529}.\n\nPoets satirized him, among them Abu Ali al-Basir, and he had reproaches and correspondence with Abu al-Ayna'.
