     "markdown": "Salih ibn Mansur al-Himyari, the ancestor of the kings of Nakur. The conversion of the Ghumara to Islam took place at his hand, in the period of the Umayyads {cite:tarikh-ibn-khaldun-ibar}.\n\nHe was an imam in the school of Malik, upright in following and in the law. He composed a versified book of wisdom which he called the Randiyya. The caliphs appointed him to the jihad against the Berbers, and sent reinforcements with him {cite:tarikh-ibn-khaldun-ibar}.\n\nHis people once apostatised and drove him out, and they appointed a man of Nafza known as al-Randi. Later they repented, returned to Islam and returned to him. He remained among them until he died at Tamsaman in the year 182 AH, which corresponds to about 798 CE by derived conversion {cite:tarikh-ibn-khaldun-ibar}."
