     "markdown": "Salim ibn Abd Allah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab, one of the jurists of [[place/medina|Medina]], and of the Sunni community {cite:tabaqat-fuqaha-abbas-1981}.\n\nRabi'a, according to al-Shirazi, said that the matter of issuing legal opinions ended with Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab, and after his death with al-Qasim and Salim {cite:tabaqat-fuqaha-abbas-1981}.\n\nal-Salabi reports that he was one of the ten jurists whom [[person/umar-ibn-abd-al-aziz|Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz]] invited to the consultative council in Medina, and that he was among the scholars from whom Umar learned good manners {cite:salabi-umayyad-state-2020 p.169-173}.\n\nThe reports of his death differ. al-Waqidi said he died in the year 106 AH, and al-Haytham said in the year 108 AH.
