     "markdown": "Sarim al-Din Ibrahim ibn al-Muʾayyad, shaykh of al-Mahmudi. He was born in the Syrian lands at the beginning of the century, roughly, and his mother was a Circassian umm walad named Turuz. He was a brave king, young, handsome, bold, generous and calm, with good manners and royal dignity. He inclined toward goodness and justice and kept his hands clean of the people's money, but he was extravagant with himself. He died in 823 AH {cite:shadharat-dhahab p. 168}."
