The tribes pledged allegiance to him: Hawwara, Zakkara, Tsul, Meknes, Bata'ba, Qashtala, Sadratha, Bahlula and Mdiouna, and he imposed tribute on them. He imposed a fixed tax on Fez, Taza, Meknes and the castle of Kutama, on condition that he would hold back raids from them {cite:tarikh-ibn-khaldun-ibar}.\n\nHe raided the Zanata nomads in the year 620 AH, and they submitted.
