Washmakir left Tabaristan and made for Gurgan. Rukn al-Dawla remained in Tabaristan until he had taken all of it, then pursued him to Gurgan and seized it {cite:kamil-ibn-al-athir p.401}.\n\nThree thousand men from Washmakir's army joined Rukn al-Dawla, who grew stronger, and Washmakir grew weaker.
