Ibn Khaldun reports that he fled from Raqqada to Egypt when Abu Abd Allah al-Shi'i took the country in the year 296 AH, and the people of Raqqada plundered the palaces of the Banu al-Aghlab {cite:tarikh-ibn-khaldun-ibar p.803}."
