They asked him to bestow the captives and wealth on them, presenting words that melt hearts; the Prophet gave them the choice between the wealth and the sons and women — they chose their kin, saying: we would not exchange our kin for anything {cite:mubarakpuri-raheeq p. 421}.\n\nThe Prophet taught them the plea-formula after the noon prayer; he and Banu Abd al-Muttalib waived their shares, the Muhajirun and Ansar followed, and six thousand of Hawazin's women and children were returned — the Prophet clothed them each in a Coptic garment {cite:mubarakpuri-raheeq p. 422}."
