     "markdown": "**الدرس الأول: شرف الإيمان.** يصف الإيمان بأنه نعمة عظيمة امتنّ الله بها على المؤمنين، ويذكر الآية التي تردّ على من امتنّوا على النبي بإسلامهم بأن الفضل لله في هدايتهم إلى الإيمان، والآية التي تخبر أن الله جعل الإيمان محبوبًا إلى المؤمنين مزيَّنًا في قلوبهم. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:02:00} ويشبّه المؤمن بأم [[person/musa|موسى]] التي كانت ترضع ولدها فتطفئ شوق قلبها وتؤجر على ذلك: فكذلك المؤمن يفعل ما يحبه قلبه ويؤجر عليه أعظم الأجر. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:02:30} والإيمان عنده شرط لقبول الأعمال الصالحة، فمن برّ والديه وتصدّق وهو فاقد للإيمان لا ينتفع بذلك يوم القيامة، ومن فقد الإيمان حبط عمله كله. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:04:00} وفي الآية التي تحذّر النبي من أن الشرك يحبط العمل يذكر وجهين: أنه من تقدير المحال، وهو جائز في لغة العرب، لأن الأنبياء معصومون من المعاصي فضلًا عن الشرك؛ وأن الخطاب موجّه إلى النبي والمراد به الأمة كلها. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:05:00} (انظر [[concept/iman|الإيمان]].)\n\n**الدرس الثاني: من شرف الإيمان أيضًا.** يقول إن الشيطان لا سلطان له على المؤمنين المتوكلين على الله، وإنما سلطانه على الذين يتولونه ويشركون بالله غيره. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:02:00} والإيمان مرتبة عالية: يدخل العبد الإسلام بالشهادتين ثم يرتفع بالعمل الصالح إلى مرتبة الإيمان؛ ولما ادّعى الأعراب الإيمان قيل لهم أن يقولوا أسلمنا لأن الإيمان لم يدخل قلوبهم بعد، وهو تعبير يفيد في فهمه رجاء دخوله فيما بعد. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:03:00} ويعد بالكلام في لقاءات مقبلة عن ثلاث درجات للعبادة: الإسلام والإيمان والإحسان. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:03:00} ويرى أن الحياة الطيبة وقف على أهل الإيمان والعمل الصالح، وأن أهل الشرك والمعاصي لا يجدون حلاوة الإيمان وسكينته وأنسه مهما ملكوا. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:04:00} ويفهم الآية التي تجعل الأبرار في نعيم والفجار في جحيم على الإطلاق: نعيم وجحيم في الدنيا وفي القبر وفي الآخرة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:04:30} (انظر [[concept/ihsan|الإحسان]].)\n\n**الدرس الثالث: الشجرة الطيبة.** يقول إن الله ضرب مثلًا لكلمة الإيمان، «لا إله إلا الله»، بشجرة طيبة ثابتة الأصل عالية الفرع، وإن الأرض الطيبة التي تنبت فيها هي قلب المؤمن. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:01:30} ويرسم الصورة التي تقوم عليها السلسلة كلها: جذور الشجرة أصول الإيمان الستة، وساقها الإخلاص والمتابعة، وفروعها الأعمال الصالحة الصاعدة إلى الله، وثمارها موضوع الدروس التالية. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:04:00} وليس كل من شهد الشهادتين يجد حلاوة الإيمان عنده، بل من أينعت الشجرة في قلبه وأثمرت؛ ويذكر حديث ذوق طعم الإيمان لمن رضي بربوبية الله وبدين الإسلام وبنبوة محمد، ويشرح كل رضا: الرضا بقضاء الله وحكمه وشرعه، وبشرائع الإسلام، وبالسنة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:03:30}\n\n**الدرس الرابع: أولى الثمرات.** يقول إن الناس يتعهدون أشجار الدنيا طوال السنة لحصاد شهر أو شهرين، أما شجرة الإيمان فتؤتي ثمرها في كل حين. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:01:00} والثمرة الأولى ولاية الله: فالله ولي المؤمنين ينقلهم من الظلمات إلى النور، والفعل المضارع في فهمه يفيد أن ذلك يقع في كل لحظة: من ظلمات الشرك إلى نور التوحيد، ومن الجهل إلى العلم، ومن الغفلة إلى الذكر، ومن الشك إلى اليقين، ومن الرياء إلى الإخلاص. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:02:00} والثانية دفاع الله عن المؤمنين، ويذكر الحديث القدسي الذي يعزوه إلى [[work/sahih-al-bukhari|البخاري]] من طريق [[person/abu-hurayra|أبي هريرة]] في أن الله يعلن الحرب على من يعادي أولياءه. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:03:00} والثالثة أن أمر المؤمن كله له خير كما في الحديث: يشكر في السراء ويصبر في الضراء ويؤجر في الحالين. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:04:00} ويضيف أن الإيمان أعظم ما يُتسلّى به عند المصائب، ويضرب المثل بـ[[person/yaqub|يعقوب]] الذي أحبّ [[person/yusuf|يوسف]] واعتذر لإخوته مرتين حين استأذنوه في أخذه، ثم صبر على الفراق الطويل صبرًا جميلًا. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:05:00} (انظر [[concept/wilaya|الولاية]] و[[concept/sabr|الصبر]].)\n\n**الدرس الخامس: الإيمان ملاذ.** يقول إن الإيمان ملاذ المؤمنين ومعاذهم: إذا خُوّفوا بغير الله، وإذا أتتهم نعمة، وإذا نزل بهم بلاء، وإذا أطاعوا، وإذا عصوا. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:02:00} فلما خُوّف الصحابة بجموع الناس ازدادوا إيمانًا وتوكلوا على الله، ولما رأى المؤمنون الأحزاب لم يزدهم ذلك إلا إيمانًا وانقيادًا، بخلاف المنافقين الذين يظنون كل صوت موجّهًا إليهم. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:03:00} وفي البلاء يلجؤون إلى الصبر والاحتساب والرضا بالقضاء، وفي النعمة يعرفون المنعم ولا يقولون كما قال [[person/qarun|قارون]] إن ما أُعطوه إنما نالوه بعلمهم، ويشكرون الله باللسان والقلب والجوارح. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:04:00} وبعد الطاعة يعلمون أن الله هو الذي وفّقهم إليها، وبعد المعصية يلجؤون إلى التوبة والاستغفار والإكثار من الحسنات الماحية. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:04:30} (انظر [[concept/shukr|الشكر]].)\n\n**الدرس السادس: المبشرات في الدنيا.** يقول إن أهل الإيمان والتقوى مبشَّرون بكل خير في الدنيا والآخرة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:01:00} فأولى المبشرات محبة الخلق وثناؤهم: سُئل النبي عن الرجل يعمل العمل لا يريد به إلا وجه الله فيحبه الناس أو يثنون عليه، فقال إن ذلك عاجل بشرى المؤمن. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:01:30} والثانية الرؤيا الصالحة، التي أخبر النبي أنها ما بقي من النبوة، جزء من ستة وأربعين جزءًا منها؛ ويوضح أن النبوة ذهبت وبقي جزء منها، وبقاء الجزء ليس بقاءً للنبوة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:02:30} والثالثة تنزّل الملائكة على الذين أقرّوا بربوبية الله ثم استقاموا، وفيها عنده قولان: أنها تتنزل عليهم في كل وقت تزيل الخوف من المستقبل والحزن على الماضي، أو أنها تتنزل عند الموت حين يكون العبد أضعف ما يكون وأخوف ما يكون. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:04:30} (انظر [[concept/ruya-fiqh|الرؤيا]].)\n\n**الدرس السابع: المبشرات عند الموت وفي القبر وما بعده.** في روايته تخرج روح المؤمن إذا بُشّرت برضا الله تسيل كما تسيل القطرة من فم السقاء، لها رائحة طيبة وضوء، فتشهد تغسيل البدن، ثم تطلب فوق الجنازة أن يُسرع بها؛ أما روح الكافر والفاجر فتُبشَّر بالسخط وتُنتزع، وتدعو فوق الجنازة بالويل وتسأل أين يُذهب بها. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:02:00} ومن هنا، كما يقول، كانت السنة الإسراع بالجنازة: فالصالحة يُعجَّل بها إلى الخير، وغيرها يتخفف الناس من حملها. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:02:30} وفي القبر يُفسح للمؤمن مدّ البصر، ويُفتح له باب إلى الجنة، ويُعرض عليه مقعده منها بالغداة والعشي، ويدخل عليه رجل حسن الوجه حسن الثياب طيب الريح يخبره أنه عمله الصالح؛ ويضيق على الكافر قبره ويدخل عليه رجل قبيح يخبره أنه عمله القبيح. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:04:00} ويوم القيامة تبيضّ وجوه المؤمنين، ويؤتون كتبهم بأيمانهم، ويسعى نورهم بين أيديهم بقدر إيمانهم؛ وفي الجنة تدخل عليهم الملائكة من كل باب، ويُبشَّرون بالخلود من أول دخولهم كي لا يكدّر نعيمَهم خوفُ مفارقته. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:05:00} (انظر [[concept/ihtidar|الاحتضار]] و[[concept/rafiq-al-qabr|رفيق القبر]].)\n\n**الدرس الثامن: محبة الله والجنة.** يقول إن الله يجعل للمؤمنين ودًّا: يحب العبد فينادي [[person/jibril|جبريل]] أن يحبه، فيحبه أهل السماء، ثم يوضع له القبول في الأرض، فيحبه الناس ولا يدرون لماذا. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:01:30} وينقل قول [[person/harim-ibn-hayyan|هرم بن حيان]]: إذا أقبل العبد بقلبه على الله أقبل الله بقلوب المؤمنين إليه. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:02:00} ويقول إن الناس يحبون أئمة العلم والدين: [[person/ahmad-ibn-hanbal|أحمد]] و[[person/al-shafii|الشافعي]] و[[person/malik-ibn-anas|مالكًا]] و[[person/abu-hanifa|أبا حنيفة]] و[[person/al-bukhari|البخاري]] و[[person/muslim-ibn-al-hajjaj|مسلمًا]] والترمذي و[[person/ibn-taymiyya|ابن تيمية]]، وكم من مالك للمليارات لا محبة له في قلوب الخلق. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:02:30} والملائكة الذين يحملون العرش يستغفرون للمؤمنين، ويعلّل اختيارهم الاستغفار بأن دفع المفاسد مقدَّم على جلب المصالح. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:03:00} والثمرة العظمى الجنة، التي يصف أرضها بالمسك والزعفران وسقفها بعرش الرحمن، ويذكر الحديث القدسي فيما أعدّه الله لعباده الصالحين مما يفوق ما رأته العيون وسمعته الآذان، مع دعوة أبي هريرة إلى قراءة الآية في أن ما ادُّخر للمؤمنين من النعيم مخفي عن كل نفس. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:04:30} (انظر [[concept/hubb-allah|محبة الله]] و[[concept/istighfar|الاستغفار]] و[[concept/jannah|الجنة]].)\n\n**الدرس التاسع: نماء الشجرة بمعرفة الله والقرآن.** يسأل كيف نتعهد شجرة الإيمان حتى تترعرع وتثمر، ويجعل أول الأسباب معرفة الله: فكلما ازداد العبد معرفة بربه ازداد له حبًّا ومنه خشية وعليه توكلًا. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:01:00} ويشرح أن «الحسنى» جمع «أحسن» لا جمع «حسن»، لأن الله اختار لنفسه أحسن الأسماء المتضمنة أحسن الصفات، وينقل تفسير [[person/abdullah-ibn-abbas|ابن عباس]] للعبادة في آية خلق الجن والإنس بالمعرفة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:02:00} والسبب الثاني تدبر القرآن: فسماعه بقلب حاضر يزيد الإيمان، ومن لا ينتفع به كمن تناديه من الإسكندرية وهو في القاهرة فلا يسمع؛ فالعيب فيهم لا في القرآن. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:03:30} إن العبد بعد استكمال الفرائض يفتح على نفسه أبواب النوافل، على ما في الحديث القدسي من أن المداومة على النوافل بعد الفرائض توصل العبد إلى محبة الله. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:01:30} ويعدّدها: اثنتا عشرة ركعة في اليوم والليلة سوى المكتوبة، من حديث [[person/umm-habiba-bint-abi-sufyan|أم حبيبة]] الذي يعد صاحبها ببيت في الجنة؛ وقيام الليل أفضل الصلاة بعد المكتوبة؛ وصيام الاثنين والخميس ويوم عرفة وعاشوراء وست من شوال، وصيام [[person/dawud|داود]] يومًا ويومًا؛ والعمرة والحج بعد الفريضة؛ والصدقة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:02:30} ويعلّل كون النوافل هي الموصلة إلى محبة الله دون الفرائض بأن الفريضة تُؤدّى رجاء الثواب وخوف العقاب، والنافلة تُؤدّى بخالص نية التحبب والتقرب. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:03:00} والسبب الآخر مجالسة الصالحين: فلا شيء أنفع للقلب منها، والنفس مهيأة للخير والشر، والصاحب يسحب صاحبه إلى الإيمان أو يبعده عنه. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:04:30} (انظر [[concept/nawafil|النوافل]] و[[concept/sunan-rawatib|السنن الرواتب]].)\n\n**الدرس الحادي عشر: معرفة النبي ومعجزاته.** يقول إن معرفة النبي سبب آخر لنماء الإيمان، وإن من عاصره كان يكفيه أن ينظر إلى وجهه، ويستشهد ببيت [[person/hassan-ibn-thabit|حسان بن ثابت]] في أن بديهته كانت تنبئ بالخبر ولو لم تكن فيه آيات مبينة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:01:30} ويروي قصة [[person/abdullah-ibn-salam|عبد الله بن سلام]]، الحبر الذي نظر إلى وجه النبي عند قدومه المدينة فقال إنه ليس بوجه كذاب، ثم طلب من النبي أن يدعو اليهود فيسألهم عنه قبل أن يعلن إسلامه، فأثنوا عليه بأنه خيرهم وأعلمهم، فلما شهد ذمّوه بضد ذلك. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:02:30} ويرى أن سيرة النبي نفسها من معجزاته: لم يغدر ولم يخن ولم يكذب قط، وكان أشد حياءً من العذراء في خدرها، وأعظم معجزاته القرآن. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:03:30} وينقل قول [[person/al-shafii|الشافعي]] إن الله ما أعطى نبيًّا ما أعطى محمدًا، فلما قيل له إن [[person/isa-ibn-maryam|عيسى]] أُعطي إحياء الموتى قال إن محمدًا أُعطي حنين الجذع الذي بكى حين تحوّل عنه إلى المنبر؛ ويضيف قول [[person/al-hasan-al-basri|الحسن البصري]] إنها خشبة تحنّ إلى رسول الله، فقلوب المؤمنين أولى بالحنين. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:05:00} وإذا كان موسى ضرب البحر فانفلق، فالنبي أشار إلى القمر فانشق. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:05:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:05:30} (انظر [[concept/mujiza|المعجزة]] و[[event/splitting-of-the-moon|انشقاق القمر]].)\n\n**الدرس الثاني عشر: من المعجزات الحسية.** يقول إن موسى ضرب الحجر فانفجرت منه اثنتا عشرة عينًا، والنبي وضع يده في ركوة ماء فتفجر الماء من بين أصابعه، وهي عنده أبلغ في الإعجاز، لأن خروج الماء من الحجارة معهود في مناطق كثيرة، أما خروجه من بين اللحم والعظم فلم يكن لأحد قبله. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:01:30} ويذكر الحديث الذي في [[work/sahih-muslim|صحيح مسلم]] عن حجر بمكة كان يسلّم على النبي قبل أن يُبعث، والشجرتين اللتين انقادتا له بإذن الله فاستتر بهما. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:02:30} ويحكي خبر الرجل الذي دخل والنبي يخطب الجمعة يسأله الاستسقاء ولم يكن في السماء قزعة، فما وضع النبي يديه حتى نزل المطر، ودام أسبوعًا يقول إن أهل المدينة كانوا يسمونه «سبتًا» لمعايشتهم اليهود، ثم دعاؤه أن يكون المطر حولهم لا عليهم، فخرجوا يمشون في الشمس. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:04:00}\n\n**الدرس الثالث عشر: محاسن الإسلام.** يقول إن من أسباب النماء معرفة محاسن الإسلام، الدين الذي ارتضاه الله للبشرية إلى آخر الزمان. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:00:30} ويذكر أن آية إكمال الدين نزلت بعرفة في حجة الوداع يوم جمعة، وقصة الحبر الذي قال لـ[[person/umar-ibn-al-khattab|عمر]] إنها لو نزلت على اليهود لجعلوا يومها عيدًا، وجواب عمر أنها نزلت في عيدين: يوم عرفة ويوم الجمعة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:02:00} ويرى الإسلام أحسن الأديان في العقيدة والعبادات والمعاملات والأخلاق: فالصلاة يضع فيها العبد جبهته على التراب لله؛ والزكاة تفرج أزمات الفقراء وتطهّر قلب الغني من الشح وقلب الفقير من الحسد؛ والصيام يضيّق مجاري الشيطان ويكسر الشهوة ويُشعر الغني بجوع الفقير طوال السنة؛ والحج يجمع المسلمين على اختلاف أجناسهم. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:04:00}\n\n**الدرس الرابع عشر: أجواء الإيمان والتفكر.** يقول إن شجر الصيف يتساقط ورقه في برد الشتاء ويزدهر في الصيف، وكذلك شجرة الإيمان: تترعرع في أجواء الحج والعمرة والاعتكاف وتشييع الجنائز ودروس العلم، وتذبل في أجواء الإباحية والتبرج. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:01:30} ومن الأسباب التفكر في مخلوقات الله لا في ذاته، فالله أعظم من أن يُحاط به علمًا؛ ويذكر أحاديث في عظم خلق الملائكة، ويقول إن عظمة المخلوق تدل على عظمة الخالق. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:03:00} ويروي أن أم الدرداء سُئلت عن أكثر عبادة [[person/abu-al-darda|أبي الدرداء]] فقالت التفكر، وقول العلماء إن تفكر ساعة خير من قيام ليلة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:04:00} (انظر [[concept/al-tafakkur-fi-ayat-allah-fil-kawn|التفكر في آيات الله في الكون]].)\n\n**الدرس الخامس عشر: معنى التقوى.** ينتقل إلى التقوى، ويسميها أعلى درجات الإيمان، ويذكر الحديث الذي سُئل فيه النبي عن الإسلام والإيمان والإحسان؛ والإحسان، أن تعبد الله كأنك تراه، هو عنده درجة التقوى، وجزاؤه النظر إلى وجه الله، وهو «الزيادة» الموعودة للذين أحسنوا. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:02:00} ويسوق تعريفات: علم القلب بقرب الرب، وهو قرب لا يشبه قرب المخلوق من المخلوق، كحال من كان على بساط الملك يعلم أن الملك يراه؛ وترك ما تهوى لما تخشى؛ وترك الذنوب، كما أجاب [[person/abu-hurayra|أبو هريرة]] بصورة الماشي في طريق ذي شوك، وقد نظمها شاعر؛ وترك المشتبه خوف الوقوع في الإثم. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 [[concept/taqwa|التقوى]].)\n\n**الدرس السادس عشر: التقوى وصية الله والأنبياء والسلف.** يقول إن التقوى وصية الله للأولين والآخرين، ووصية النبي لأمته كما في الموعظة التي قال الصحابة إنها كأنها موعظة مودّع، ووصية كل نبي لقومه، ويسمي [[person/nuh|نوحًا]] وهودًا و[[person/salih|صالحًا]] و[[person/shuayb|شعيبًا]] و[[person/musa|موسى]]. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:00:30} يوصي بها في خطبه، وأُوصي بها [[person/umar-ibn-al-khattab|عمر]] حين استُخلف، وقال [[person/sufyan-al-thawri|سفيان الثوري]] لـ[[person/ibn-abi-dhib|ابن أبي ذئب]] إنه إن اتقى الله كفاه الناس، وإن اتقى الناس لم يغنوا عنه من الله شيئًا. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:03:00} وهي أجمل لباس: فبعد اللباس الذي يواري العورات والريش الذي يُتجمّل به دلّ الله على لباس التقوى، ويقابل ذلك بالعري والتبرج اللذين يقول إنهما ليسا حضارة بل سفول. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:04:00}\n\n**الدرس السابع عشر: خير الزاد وأكرم الناس.** يقول إن التقوى خير زاد، ويذكر سبب نزول الآية: كان أهل اليمن يخرجون إلى الحج بلا زاد ويقولون نحن ضيوف الله، فأُمروا بالتزود ودُلّوا على أن خير الزاد التقوى. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep17 00:03:30} وأكرم الناس أتقاهم، لا أكثرهم مالًا ولا أشرفهم نسبًا، ويقابل بين [[person/abu-lahab|أبي لهب]]، عم النبي، الذي لم يتشرف بالإسلام، و[[person/salman-al-farisi|سلمان الفارسي]] الذي لم يكن عربيًّا ورفعه الإسلام. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep17 00:04:00} التقوى: فأول أمر في كتاب الله، بعبادة الرب الخالق، يُختم ببيان أن غايته التقوى. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:01:00} وكذلك الصيام الذي لا يراه أحد ولا يحفظه إلا من يعلم أن الله يراه، والأضاحي التي لا يصل إلى الله منها لحم ولا دم وإنما تصل إليه تقوى أصحابها. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:02:30} ويشرح أن الوحي سُمّي روحًا لأن به تكون الحياة، فالناس بغير شرع الله أموات، ويختم بالأمر بالتعاون على البر والتقوى. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:03:00} يقول إن كل ثمرات شجرة الإيمان هي ثمرات للتقوى أيضًا لأنها أعلى درجاته، ويقسم ثمرات التقوى إلى عاجلة في الدنيا وآجلة في الآخرة. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:01:30} وفي سورة واحدة يسميها سورة الطلاق يجد خمسًا: المخرج ([[passage/quran-65-2|الطلاق 2]])، والرزق من "markdown": "'Al-Qarib' ('The Boat') is the title under which the Assabile archive keeps twenty-one short video lessons by [[person/ahmad-farid|Ahmad Farid]], each about five to six minutes long. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid} The title is never spoken in the recordings and no boat appears in them: the lessons form one continuous course on faith (iman) and then on piety (taqwa), built on the Qur'anic likeness of the good word to a good tree. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:00:30} Each lesson opens with the sermon of need or a praise of God and closes with the speaker asking forgiveness for himself and his listeners. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:00:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:05:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:05:30}\n\nLessons 1 to 14 treat the honour of faith, the fruits of what he calls 'the tree of faith' and the causes that make it grow; lessons 15 to 21 rise, in his words, 'a degree higher than faith' to piety, its meanings, its honour and its fruits in this world and the next. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:01:30} The two halves share their subjects with two titles in the list of his works on the Arabic Wikipedia, 'The Tree of Faith' (Shajarat al-Iman) and 'Piety, the goal sought and the pearl lost' (al-Taqwa al-ghaya al-manshuda wa-l-durra al-mafquda). {cite:wikipedia-ahmad-farid-ar} The episode pages give no recording date; in lesson 9 he speaks of the month of the Qur'an, Ramadan, as a time for a portion of recitation. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:04:30} The archive's pages and media files for the last three lessons are numbered 20, 21 and 22, so no lesson numbered 19 is kept; the nineteenth lesson as kept begins the fruits of piety directly after the eighteenth, which closed the honour of piety. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:00:30}\n\nThe verses and hadiths on this page are as he recites and explains them in the recordings; the explanations are his, and the hadith gradings he gives, where he gives any, are his statements."

     "heading": "The lessons",
     "markdown": "**Lesson 1: the honour of faith.** He calls faith a great blessing by which God has favoured believers, recalling the verse that answers those who reminded the Prophet of their Islam that it is God who favours them by guiding them to faith, and the verse that God has made faith beloved to the believers and adorned it in their hearts. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:02:00} He likens the believer to the mother of [[person/musa|Moses]], who nursed her own child, quenched the longing of her heart and was rewarded for it: so the believer does what his heart loves and is rewarded with the greatest reward. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:02:30} Faith, he says, is the condition for good works to count, so that whoever honours his parents and gives alms while lacking faith will not benefit from it on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever loses faith loses all his works. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:04:00} On the verse warning the Prophet that associating partners with God would void his works, he gives two explanations: that it is the supposition of the impossible, which Arabic allows, since prophets are protected from sins let alone from associating partners with God; and that the address is to the Prophet but meant for the whole community. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:05:00} (See [[concept/iman|faith]].)\n\n**Lesson 2: further honours of faith.** Satan, he says, has no authority over believers who rely on God, only over those who take him as a patron and associate others with God. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:02:00} Faith is a high rank: a person enters Islam by the two testimonies and rises by good works to the rank of faith; when the Bedouins claimed faith, God told them to say rather that they had submitted, for faith had not yet entered their hearts, a phrasing that in his reading leaves hope that it will. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:03:00} He announces three degrees of worship, islam, iman and ihsan, for later lessons. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:03:00} The good life, he holds, belongs only to the people of faith and good works; the people of associating and of sins cannot find the sweetness, calm and intimacy of faith whatever they own. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:04:00} He reads the verse that the righteous are in bliss and the wicked in hellfire as unrestricted: bliss and torment in this world, in the grave and in the hereafter. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:04:30} (See [[concept/ihsan|ihsan]].)\n\n**Lesson 3: the good tree.** God, he says, struck a likeness for the word of faith, 'there is no god but God', as a good tree whose root is firm and whose branches are in the sky; the good soil in which it grows is the believer's heart. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:01:30} He builds the image of the whole series: the roots of the tree are the six articles of faith, its trunk is sincerity and following the Prophet, its branches are good works rising to God, and its fruits are to come in the following lessons. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:04:00} Not everyone who testifies tastes the sweetness of faith, he says, but only the one in whose heart the tree has borne ripe fruit; he recalls the hadith that whoever is content with God as Lord, with Islam as religion and with Muhammad as prophet has tasted faith, and explains each contentment as contentment with God's decree and law, with the law of Islam and with the Sunna. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep03 00:03:30}\n\n**Lesson 4: the first fruits.** Worldly trees are tended all year for a harvest of a month or two, he says, while the tree of faith gives its fruit at every moment. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:01:00} The first fruit is God's guardianship: God is the patron of believers and brings them out of darkness into light, and the present tense, in his reading, means that this happens at every moment, from associating to oneness, from ignorance to knowledge, from heedlessness to remembrance, from doubt to certainty and from showing off to sincerity. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:02:00} The second is God's defence of believers, and he recalls the sacred hadith, which he gives from [[work/sahih-al-bukhari|al-Bukhari]] through [[person/abu-hurayra|Abu Hurayra]], that God declares war on whoever is hostile to one of His friends. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:03:00} The third is that all of the believer's affair is good, as the hadith says: grateful in ease, patient in hardship, rewarded in both. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:04:00} Faith, he adds, is the greatest consolation in calamity, and he points to [[person/yaqub|Jacob]], who loved [[person/yusuf|Joseph]], excused himself twice when the brothers asked to take him, and bore the long separation with beautiful patience. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:05:00} (See [[concept/wilaya|friendship with God]] and [[concept/sabr|patience]].)\n\n**Lesson 5: faith as refuge.** Faith is the refuge of believers, he says: when they are frightened by something other than God, when a blessing comes, when trial comes, when they obey and when they sin. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:02:00} When the Companions were told that the people had gathered against them, their faith increased and they said that God sufficed them, and when the believers saw the Confederates their faith and submission only grew, unlike the hypocrites who think every cry is aimed at them. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:03:00} In trial they turn to patience and contentment with God's decree; in blessing they know the One who gives it and do not say, as [[person/qarun|Qarun]] did, that they were given it for their own knowledge, and they thank God with tongue, heart and limbs. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:04:00} After an obedience they know that God enabled it; after a sin they turn to repentance, to asking forgiveness and to good deeds that wipe it out. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:04:30} (See [[concept/shukr|gratitude]].)\n\n**Lesson 6: glad tidings in this world.** People of faith and piety, he says, are given glad tidings of every good in this world and the next. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:01:00} The first is people's love and praise: asked about a man who does a deed only for God and people love or praise him for it, the Prophet called it the believer's glad tidings brought forward. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:01:30} The second is the good dream, which the Prophet said is all that remains of prophethood, one part of forty-six; prophethood has ended, he explains, and the remaining part is not a remaining prophethood. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:02:30} The third is the angels' descent on those who said 'our Lord is God' and then stood firm, for which he gives two readings: that the angels descend on them throughout their lives, removing fear of what is coming and grief over what is past, or that they descend at death, when a person is at his weakest and most afraid. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:04:30} (See [[concept/ruya-fiqh|the dream]].)\n\n**Lesson 7: glad tidings at death, in the grave and beyond.** In his account the believer's soul, given the glad tidings of God's pleasure, flows out as a drop flows from the mouth of a waterskin, with a sweet scent and a light, watches the washing of the body and, above the bier, asks to be hurried on; the soul of the disbeliever and the wicked is told of God's anger and is driven out, and above the bier cries woe and asks where it is being taken. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:02:00} From this, he says, comes the Sunna of hastening the funeral: good is brought forward to a righteous soul, and an evil is put down from people's necks. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:02:30} In the grave the believer's place is widened as far as the eye can see, a door to paradise is opened for him, his seat in it is shown to him morning and evening, and a man with a fine face, fine clothes and a sweet scent comes to him and tells him he is his good deeds; the disbeliever's grave closes on him and an ugly man comes and tells him he is his foul deeds. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:04:00} On the Day of Resurrection the believers' faces are white, they receive their book in their right hands and a light runs before them by the measure of their faith; in paradise angels enter on them from every gate, and they are told at once that they will stay forever, so that no fear of leaving it spoils their bliss. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:05:00} (See [[concept/ihtidar|the presence of death]] and [[concept/rafiq-al-qabr|what accompanies a person to the grave]].)\n\n**Lesson 8: God's love and paradise.** God, he says, places love for the believers: He calls [[person/jibril|Gabriel]] to love a servant, the people of heaven love him, and acceptance is laid down for him on earth, so that people love him without being able to say why. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:01:30} He quotes [[person/harim-ibn-hayyan|Harim ibn Hayyan]]: when a servant turns his heart to God, God turns the hearts of the believers to him. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:02:00} People, he says, love the imams of knowledge and religion, [[person/ahmad-ibn-hanbal|Ahmad]], [[person/al-shafii|al-Shafi'i]], [[person/malik-ibn-anas|Malik]], [[person/abu-hanifa|Abu Hanifa]], [[person/al-bukhari|al-Bukhari]], [[person/muslim-ibn-al-hajjaj|Muslim]], al-Tirmidhi and [[person/ibn-taymiyya|Ibn Taymiyya]], while many who own billions have no place in people's hearts. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:02:30} The angels who bear the Throne ask forgiveness for the believers, and he explains that they chose forgiveness because warding off harm comes before gaining benefit. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:03:00} The greatest fruit is paradise, whose soil, he says, is musk and saffron and whose roof is the Throne of the Merciful, and he recalls the sacred hadith of what no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no heart has imagined, with Abu Hurayra's invitation to read the verse that no soul knows what joy is hidden for it. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep08 00:04:30} (See [[concept/hubb-allah|love for God]], [[concept/istighfar|asking forgiveness]] and [[concept/jannah|paradise]].)\n\n**Lesson 9: the growth of the tree, knowing God and the Qur'an.** He asks how the tree of faith is tended until it grows and bears fruit, and names first knowing God: the more a servant knows God, the more he loves Him, fears Him and relies on Him. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:01:00} The names are called 'husna', he explains, as the plural of 'ahsan', the best, not of 'hasan', good, because God chose for Himself the best names, containing the best attributes; and he gives [[person/abdullah-ibn-abbas|Ibn Abbas]]'s reading of the verse that jinn and humans were created to worship as 'to know'. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:02:00} The second cause is reflecting on the Qur'an: hearing it with a present heart increases faith, and those who do not benefit are like someone in Cairo called from Alexandria, who cannot hear; the fault is in them, not in the Qur'an. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep09 00:04:00} (See [[concept/asma-allah-al-husna|the Most Beautiful Names]] and [[concept/tadabbur-al-quran|reflection on the Qur'an]].)\n\n**Lesson 10: supererogatory works and good company.** Once the obligations are complete, he says, the servant opens for himself the doors of supererogatory works, following the sacred hadith that a servant keeps drawing near to God by them until God loves him. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:01:30} He lists them: twelve rak'as a day besides the obligatory prayers, from the hadith of [[person/umm-habiba-bint-abi-sufyan|Umm Habiba]] promising a house in paradise; the night prayer, the best prayer after the obligatory; fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, on the day of Arafa, on Ashura and six days of Shawwal, and the fast of [[person/dawud|David]], a day on and a day off; umra and hajj after the obligatory pilgrimage; and charity. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:02:30} Supererogatory works lead to God's love more than the obligations, he explains, because the obligation is done in hope of reward and fear of punishment, while the supererogatory act is done purely to draw near to God. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:03:00} The other cause he names is sitting with the righteous: nothing benefits the heart more than their company, the soul being ready for good and for evil, and companions draw a person towards faith or away from it. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep10 00:04:30} (See [[concept/nawafil|supererogatory works]] and [[concept/sunan-rawatib|the regular sunnas]].)\n\n**Lesson 11: knowing the Prophet, and his miracles.** Knowing the Prophet is another cause of the growth of faith, he says; for those who lived in his time it was enough to look at his face, and he recalls the verse of [[person/hassan-ibn-thabit|Hassan ibn Thabit]] that even without clear signs his first glance would tell you the truth. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:01:30} He tells the story of [[person/abdullah-ibn-salam|Abdallah ibn Salam]], a rabbi who looked at the Prophet's face on his arrival in Medina and said it was not the face of a liar, then asked the Prophet to call the Jews and question them about him before declaring his Islam; they praised him as their best and most learned, and after his testimony called him their worst. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:02:30} The Prophet's life, he says, is itself among his miracles: he never betrayed, broke faith or lied, and was more modest than a virgin in her chamber; the greatest of his miracles is the Qur'an. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:03:30} He relates [[person/al-shafii|al-Shafi'i]]'s saying that God gave no prophet what He gave Muhammad, and when told that [[person/isa-ibn-maryam|Jesus]] was given the raising of the dead, answered that Muhammad was given the yearning of the palm trunk, which wept when he moved to the new pulpit; he adds [[person/al-hasan-al-basri|al-Hasan al-Basri]]'s remark that a piece of wood yearned for the Prophet, and asks whether believers' hearts should not. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:05:00} Where Moses struck the sea and it parted, he says, the Prophet pointed at the moon and it split. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:05:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:05:30} (See [[concept/mujiza|miracle]] and [[event/splitting-of-the-moon|the splitting of the moon]].)\n\n**Lesson 12: further miracles.** Moses struck the rock and twelve springs gushed out, he says, while the Prophet put his hand in a water vessel and water gushed from between his fingers, a greater wonder in his view, since water from stone is known in many places but water from flesh and bone was given to no one before. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:01:30} He recalls the hadith in [[work/sahih-muslim|Sahih Muslim]] of a stone in Mecca that greeted the Prophet before his mission, and the two trees that moved at his word to screen him. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:02:30} He tells of the man who entered during the Friday sermon asking for rain when there was not a wisp of cloud, of rain that fell before the Prophet lowered his hands and lasted a week, which the people of Medina, he says, called a 'sabt' from living alongside the Jews, and of the prayer that the rain fall around them and not on them, after which they walked out in the sun. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:04:00}\n\n**Lesson 13: the merits of Islam.** Another cause of growth is knowing the merits of Islam, the religion God has accepted for humanity, he says, until He inherits the earth. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:00:30} He recalls that the verse of the completion of religion came down at Arafa during the Farewell Pilgrimage, on a Friday, and the story of a rabbi who told [[person/umar-ibn-al-khattab|Umar]] that had it come down to the Jews they would have taken its day as a feast, and Umar's answer that it came on two feasts, the day of Arafa and the day of Friday. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:02:00} Islam is the best religion, he says, in creed, worship, dealings and ethics: prayer brings the forehead to the dust for God; zakat relieves the poor and cleanses the rich man's heart of avarice and the poor man's of envy; fasting narrows Satan's paths, breaks desire and lets the rich feel the hunger the poor feel all year; and hajj gathers Muslims of every race. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:04:00}\n\n**Lesson 14: the climate of faith, and reflection.** A summer tree sheds its leaves in the cold of winter and flourishes in summer, he says, and so does the tree of faith: it flourishes in the climate of hajj, umra, retreat in the mosque, following funerals and lessons of knowledge, and withers in a climate of licence and display. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:01:30} A further cause is reflecting on God's creatures, not on His essence, which is beyond being encompassed by knowledge; he recalls hadiths on the immense size of angels and says the greatness of the creature points to the greatness of the Creator. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:03:00} He relates that Umm al-Darda, asked what [[person/abu-al-darda|Abu al-Darda]]'s most frequent worship was, said it was reflection, and the scholars' saying that an hour's reflection is better than a night of prayer. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep14 00:04:00} (See [[concept/al-tafakkur-fi-ayat-allah-fil-kawn|reflection on God's signs in creation]].)\n\n**Lesson 15: what piety is.** He now moves to piety, which he calls the highest degree of faith, and recalls the hadith in which the Prophet was asked about islam, iman and ihsan; ihsan, worshipping God as though you see Him, is in his words the degree of piety, and its reward is the vision of God, the 'more' promised to those who do good. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:02:00} He gives several definitions: the heart's knowledge of the Lord's nearness, a nearness unlike that of one creature to another, like someone on the king's carpet who knows the king sees him; leaving what one desires for what one fears; leaving sins, as [[person/abu-hurayra|Abu Hurayra]] answered with the image of a man walking a path of thorns, put into verse by a poet; and leaving doubtful matters for fear of falling into sin. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:04:30} These meanings, he says, do not contradict one another but support one another. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep15 00:05:00} (See [[concept/taqwa|piety]].)\n\n**Lesson 16: piety as the counsel of God, of the prophets and of the early generations.** Piety, he says, is God's counsel to the first and the last, the Prophet's counsel to his community, as in the exhortation his Companions said sounded like a farewell, and the counsel of every prophet to his people, and he names [[person/nuh|Noah]], Hud, [[person/salih|Salih]], [[person/shuayb|Shu'ayb]] and [[person/musa|Moses]]. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:02:00} It is the counsel of the early generations: [[person/abu-bakr|Abu Bakr]] urged it in his sermons, [[person/umar-ibn-al-khattab|Umar]] was urged to it on being appointed, and [[person/sufyan-al-thawri|Sufyan al-Thawri]] told [[person/ibn-abi-dhib|Ibn Abi Dhi'b]] that if he feared God, God would spare him people, and if he feared people they would not spare him God. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:03:00} It is the finest garment: after the clothes that cover and the finery that adorns, God pointed to the garment of piety, and he sets this against nakedness and display, which he says are not civilisation but a fall. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep16 00:04:00}\n\n**Lesson 17: the best provision and the noblest people.** Piety is the best provision, he says, and he gives the occasion of the verse: people of Yemen would set out for hajj without provisions, calling themselves God's guests, and were told to take provisions and that the best provision is piety. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep17 00:03:30} The noblest people are the most pious, not the richest or best-born, and he sets [[person/abu-lahab|Abu Lahab]], the Prophet's uncle, who was not honoured by Islam, against [[person/salman-al-farisi|Salman the Persian]], who was not even an Arab and was raised by Islam. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep17 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep17 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep17 00:05:00}\n\n**Lesson 18: piety as the goal of worship.** God created people to worship Him, he says, and the goal of worship is piety: the first command in the Book, to worship the Lord who created you, ends 'that you may be pious'. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:01:00} So too the fasting, which no one can see and which only one who knows God sees him keeps intact, and the sacrifice, whose flesh and blood do not reach God but the piety of those who offer it. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:02:30} He explains that revelation is called 'spirit' because life comes through it, so that people without God's law are dead, and ends with the command to cooperate in righteousness and piety. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep18 00:04:30}\n\n**Lesson 19: the fruits of piety in this world.** Every fruit of the tree of faith is also a fruit of piety, he says, since piety is its highest degree; he divides piety's fruits into those of this world and those of the next. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:01:30} In one sura, which he names as al-Talaq, he finds five: a way out ([[passage/quran-65-2|al-Talaq 2]]), provision from where one does not expect ([[passage/quran-65-3|al-Talaq 3]]), ease in one's affairs ([[passage/quran-65-4|al-Talaq 4]]), and the expiation of sins and a greater reward ([[passage/quran-65-5|al-Talaq 5]]). {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:04:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:04:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:05:00} Provision is decreed, he explains: a man decreed a hundred thousand in a year receives it lawfully if he is pious, and if he is not, gets no more but may take it, or much of it, unlawfully. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:03:30}\n\n**Lesson 20: protection, and the inheritance of paradise.** God protects the pious and patient from their enemies' plots, he says, and the pious are the rightful heirs of paradise, to whom the hereafter is given whole. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep20 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep20 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep20 00:02:00} He contrasts a worldly win, a car or a flat, with the triumph promised to the pious, and a five-star hotel or a beach chalet with their 'good return', which the verses then describe in detail. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep20 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep20 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep20 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep20 00:03:30} He distinguishes, in his reading, the women of the pious, who look only at their husbands, from the houris kept in pavilions in sura al-Rahman ([[passage/quran-55-72|al-Rahman 72]]), whom tents screen from others. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep20 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep20 00:04:00}\n\n**Lesson 21: the last fruits.** Paradise is brought near to the pious, he says, coming to welcome them; friendships turn to enmity on that day except among the pious; and they are driven to paradise in groups, prophets with prophets and martyrs with martyrs, or, in another reading, every group that loved one another for God. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep21 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep21 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep21 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep21 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep21 00:03:00} The pious, he says, will be above others on the Day of Resurrection, and he closes the series with the hadith that whoever asks God for paradise should ask for al-Firdaws, its middle and highest part, whose roof is the Throne of the Merciful. {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep21 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep21 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep21 00:04:00}"

کہ احسان اللہ کا ہے کہ اس نے انہیں ایمان کی ہدایت دی، اور اس آیت کا کہ اللہ نے ایمان کو مومنوں کے لیے محبوب اور ان کے دلوں میں آراستہ کر دیا۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:02:00} وہ مومن کو [[person/musa|موسیٰ]] کی والدہ سے تشبیہ دیتے ہیں جو اپنے ہی بچے کو دودھ پلاتی تھیں، دل کی تڑپ بجھاتی تھیں اور اس پر اجر پاتی تھیں: اسی طرح مومن وہ کرتا ہے جو اس کے دل کو محبوب ہو اور اس پر سب سے بڑا اجر پاتا ہے۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:02:30} ان کے نزدیک ایمان نیک اعمال کی قبولیت کی شرط ہے، چنانچہ جو ایمان سے خالی ہو کر والدین سے حسنِ سلوک کرے اور صدقہ دے، قیامت کے دن اس سے فائدہ نہیں اٹھائے گا، اور جو ایمان کھو دے اس کے سارے اعمال ضائع ہو جاتے ہیں۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 00:04:00} اس آیت کے بارے میں جو نبی کو خبردار کرتی ہے کہ شرک عمل کو ضائع کر دیتا ہے، وہ دو توجیہیں بیان کرتے ہیں: کہ یہ ناممکن کا فرض کرنا ہے جو عربی میں جائز ہے، کیونکہ انبیا گناہوں سے، چہ جائیکہ شرک سے، معصوم ہیں؛ اور کہ خطاب نبی سے ہے مگر مراد پوری امت ہے۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep01 نہیں، اس کا زور صرف ان پر ہے جو اسے دوست بناتے اور اللہ کے ساتھ شریک ٹھہراتے ہیں۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep02 00:02:00} ایمان ایک بلند مرتبہ ہے: بندہ دو شہادتوں سے اسلام میں داخل ہوتا ہے اور نیک عمل سے ایمان کے مرتبے تک بلند ہوتا ہے؛ جب اعراب نے ایمان کا دعویٰ کیا تو انہیں کہا گیا کہ وہ کہیں ہم نے اسلام قبول کیا، کیونکہ ایمان ابھی ان پہلا پھل اللہ کی ولایت ہے: اللہ مومنوں کا ولی ہے اور انہیں اندھیروں سے روشنی کی طرف نکالتا ہے، اور ان کی سمجھ میں فعلِ مضارع بتاتا ہے کہ یہ ہر لمحہ ہوتا ہے: شرک سے توحید، جہالت سے علم، غفلت سے ذکر، شک ذکر کرتے ہیں جسے وہ [[work/sahih-al-bukhari|بخاری]] میں [[person/abu-hurayra|ابو ہریرہ]] کے طریق سے بتاتے ہیں، کہ جو اللہ کے کسی ولی سے دشمنی کرے اللہ اس سے اعلانِ جنگ کرتا ہے۔ صبر، اور دونوں میں اجر۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:03:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep04 00:04:00} وہ اضافہ کرتے ہیں کہ مصیبت میں سب سے بڑی تسلی ایمان ہے، اور [[person/yaqub|یعقوب]] کی مثال دیتے ہیں جو [[person/yusuf|یوسف]] سے محبت کرتے تھے، بھائیوں کے اجازت مانگنے پر دو بار عذر کیا، پھر طویل جدائی پر صبرِ جمیل کیا۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایمان مومنوں کی پناہ گاہ ہے: جب انہیں غیر اللہ سے ڈرایا جائے، جب نعمت آئے، جب آزمائش اترے، جب وہ اطاعت کریں اور جب گناہ کریں۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:02:00} جب صحابہ سے کہا گیا کہ لوگ تمہارے خلاف جمع ہو گئے ہیں تو ان کا ایمان بڑھ گیا اور انہوں نے کہا اللہ ہمیں کافی ہے، اور جب مومنوں نے احزاب کو دیکھا تو ان کا ایمان اور تسلیم ہی بڑھا، بخلاف منافقوں کے جو ہر آواز کو اپنے خلاف سمجھتے ہیں۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:03:00} آزمائش میں وہ صبر اور قضا پر رضا کی طرف رجوع کرتے ہیں؛ نعمت میں نعمت دینے والے کو پہچانتے ہیں اور [[person/qarun|قارون]] کی طرح یہ نہیں کہتے کہ یہ انہیں اپنے علم کی بنا پر ملا، اور زبان، دل اور اعضا سے اللہ کا شکر ادا کرتے ہیں۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep05 00:03:30} تقویٰ کو دنیا و آخرت میں ہر خیر کی بشارت دی گئی ہے۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:00:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:01:00} پہلی بشارت لوگوں کی محبت اور تعریف ہے: نبی سے اس شخص کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا جو صرف اللہ کی رضا کے لیے عمل کرے اور لوگ اس سے محبت کریں یا اس کی تعریف کریں، تو آپ نے فرمایا کہ یہ مومن کی جلد ملنے والی بشارت ہے۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:01:30} دوسری سچا خواب ہے، جس کے بارے میں نبی نے بتایا کہ نبوت میں سے یہی باقی رہ گیا ہے، نبوت کے چھیالیس حصوں میں سے ایک؛ وہ وضاحت کرتے ہیں کہ نبوت ختم ہو گئی اور اس کا ایک حصہ باقی رہا، اور حصے کا باقی رہنا نبوت کا باقی رہنا نہیں۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep06 00:02:30} تیسری ان لوگوں پر فرشتوں کا نزول ہے جنہوں نے کہا ہمارا رب اللہ ہے پھر استقامت اختیار کی، اور اس میں ان کے نزدیک دو قول ہیں: کہ فرشتے زندگی بھر ان پر اترتے ہیں، مستقبل کا خوف اور ماضی کا غم چلو؛ کافر اور فاجر کی روح کو غضب کی خبر ملتی ہے، کھینچ کر نکالی جاتی ہے، اور جنازے کے اوپر چلاتی ہے: ہائے افسوس، اسے کہاں لے جا رہے ہیں۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep07 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:01:30} وہ [[person/abdullah-ibn-salam|عبد اللہ بن سلام]] کا قصہ سناتے ہیں، ایک یہودی عالم جس نے مدینہ آمد پر نبی کا چہرہ دیکھ کر کہا کہ یہ جھوٹے کا چہرہ نہیں، پھر نبی سے کہا کہ یہودیوں کو بلا کر اس کے بارے میں پوچھیں اس سے پہلے کہ وہ اپنا اسلام ظاہر کرے؛ انہوں نے اسے اپنا بہترین اور سب سے بڑا عالم کہا، اور اس کی شہادت کے بعد اپنا بدترین۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:01:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep11 00:02:30} ان کے نزدیک نبی کی سیرت خود ان کے معجزات میں سے جگہوں میں معروف ہے، مگر گوشت اور ہڈی کے بیچ سے نکلنا ان سے پہلے کسی کو نہیں ملا۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:01:30} وہ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:02:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep12 00:02:30} وہ اس شخص کا قصہ سناتے ہیں جو جمعہ کے خطبے میں داخل ہو کر بارش کی دعا کی درخواست کرنے لگا جب آسمان کہ اگر یہ ہم پر اترتی تو ہم اس دن کو عید بنا لیتے، اور عمر کا جواب کہ یہ دو عیدوں میں اتری: عرفہ کا دن اور جمعہ کا دن۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep13 00:01:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid فقیروں کی تنگی دور کرتی ہے اور امیر کے دل کو بخل سے اور فقیر کے دل کو حسد سے پاک کرتی ہے؛ روزہ شیطان کے راستے تنگ کرتا، شہوت توڑتا اور امیر کو وہ بھوک محسوس کراتا ہے جو فقیر سال بھر سہتا ہے؛ اور حج ہر زیادہ نہیں پاتا، مگر ممکن ہے وہ اسے یا اس کا بڑا حصہ حرام سے لے۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:02:30} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid the-boat/ep19 00:03:00} {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid یا فلیٹ، کا مقابلہ متقیوں سے وعدہ کی گئی کامیابی سے کرتے ہیں، اور پانچ ستارہ ہوٹل یا ساحل کے شیلے کا مقابلہ «اچھے ٹھکانے» سے، جس کی تفصیل آیات آگے بیان کرتی ہیں۔ {cite:assabile-ahmad-farid کی ان بیویوں میں، جو نگاہیں نیچی رکھتی اور صرف اپنے شوہروں کو دیکھتی ہیں، اور سورۃ الرحمٰن کی خیموں میں رکھی گئی حوروں ([[passage/quran-55-72|الرحمٰن 72]]) میں فرق کرتے ہیں، جنہیں خیمے دوسروں سے کا استقبال کرے گی؛ اس دن ہر دوستی دشمنی میں بدل جائے گی سوائے متقیوں کی دوستی کے؛ اور وہ گروہ در گروہ جنت کی طرف لے جائے جائیں گے، انبیا انبیا کے ساتھ اور شہدا شہدا کے ساتھ، یا ایک اور قول میں ہر وہ
