Defense of the Prophet at Uhud

A grown-up reads you the short text; the longer one you read yourself.

After the cavalry's flanking at Uhud only nine men stayed with the Prophet ﷺ in the rear; he was hurt and his companions were wounded defending him.

After the cavalry's flanking at Uhud only nine men stayed with the Prophet ﷺ in the rear. A stone thrown by Utba ibn Abi Waqqas struck him, breaking his front tooth and cutting his lip, and Ibn Qami'a struck his cheek so two links of the helmet entered it. Talha ibn Ubaydullah (may God be pleased with him) and Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas stood firm with him: Sa'd shot till his quiver was empty, and Talha took thirty-five or thirty-nine wounds. Abu Ubayda pulled out the helmet links with his front teeth, Abu Dujana (may God be pleased with him) shielded him with his back from the arrows, and Nusayba bint Ka'b defended him until she took twelve wounds. It is part of the battle of Uhud.
