Banu Tamim is a large Arab tribe of Najd, tracing back to Tamim ibn Murr. Their men came to the Prophet ﷺ in delegations and embraced Islam, and some fought in the conquests. Their clans still live in Arabia and Iraq today.

A grown-up reads you the short text; the longer one you read yourself.
Banu Tamim is one of the greatest Adnani Arab tribes, tracing descent to Tamim ibn Murr ibn Adad ibn Amr ibn Ilyas, its homeland Najd and the lands between Mecca and Basra. They came to the Prophet ﷺ in the Year of Delegations — the delegations of Banu Darim and of al-Harith ibn Ghaziyya among them — and Ibn Hisham lists their clans in his fourth part: Darim, Bahdala, Minqar and others. Famous companions came from them: al-Aqra' ibn Habis who argued with the Prophet over the Ji'rana gifts, and al-Zibriqan ibn Badr (may God be pleased with him) and his companions, on whom the verses of al-Hujurat about voices came down. In the conquests and the civil war Banu Tamim played roles in Basra, the Jazira and the Ridda.
