Muslim brotherhood

A grown-up reads you the short text; the longer one you read yourself.

Brotherhood among Muslims guards rights, not mere feeling: 'The Muslim is the Muslim's brother — he does not wrong him, forsake him, belie him or despise him', and his life, wealth and honor are inviolable to his brother. Whoever tends his brother's need has God tending his.

Brotherhood among Muslims, in the thirty-fifth hadith of the Forty: 'Be servants of God, brothers: the Muslim is the Muslim's brother — he does not wrong him, forsake him, belie him or despise him', then the sanctity of life, wealth and honor between them. It is a brotherhood that guards rights, not mere feeling — forbidding envy, false bidding, mutual hatred, turning backs and outbidding a brother; and in Ibn Umar's hadith, the thirty-seventh: 'Whoever is in his brother's need, God is in his need' and 'It is evil enough for a Muslim to despise his brother' — Ibn Rajab establishing that brotherhood's condition is perfection in preferring the brother, loving him and checking on his state. In Medina the Prophet ﷺ paired the Muhajirun and Ansar in mutual sharing, making it a covenant bound to lives and wealth until the clannishness of the Jahiliyya melted and differences of lineage, color and homeland fell away.
