Uyayna ibn Hisn's raid on Banu Tamim

A grown-up reads you the short text; the longer one you read yourself.

A sariyya the Prophet ﷺ sent in Muharram of 9 AH under Uyayna ibn Hisn al-Fazari (may God be pleased with him) in fifty riders to Banu Tamim, who had stirred the tribes and barred them from paying the jizya.

A sariyya the Prophet ﷺ sent in Muharram of 9 AH under Uyayna ibn Hisn al-Fazari (may God be pleased with him), fifty riders not a Muhajir or Ansari among them, against Banu Tamim who had stirred the tribes and barred the jizya. Uyayna rode by night and hid by day until he fell on them in the desert; they fled, and he took eleven men, twenty-one women and thirty boys to Medina, lodged at Ramla bint al-Harith's. Ten of their chiefs came calling the Prophet and showed their wish for a contest of boasting: they brought out their orator Utarid ibn Hajib (may God be pleased with him) and Islam's orator Thabit ibn Qays answered him; then their poet al-Zibriqan ibn Badr (may God be pleased with him) recited and Islam's poet Hassan ibn Thabit (may God be pleased with him) answered on the spot. Al-Aqra' ibn Habis said: 'his orator is the better of ours, his poet the better poet'; so they entered Islam, and the Prophet rewarded them and returned their women and children.
