Harun ibn Abd Allah al-Bajali, known as al-Sari, a Kharijite leader among the members of the Kharijites. Ibn Khaldun in "Al-Ibar" reports that the Kharijites in al-Jazira gathered around him after Musawir. 1

Seizure and capture

Ibn Khaldun reports that he seized Mosul and spread corruption in al-Jazira and Azerbaijan. Al-Husayn ibn Hamdan pursued him on the order of al-Mu'tadid, captured him and brought him to the caliph. 1 Al-Mu'tadid then bestowed a robe of honour on al-Husayn and his brothers, and ordered the demolition of the fortress of Hamdan in Mardin. 1

See also Harun al-Shari; he seems to be the same person as in al-Tabari, but this needs an additional source.
