Overview
The shrine of al-Husayn in Cairo, opposite which stood Dar al-Fitra 1.
The teaching circle
Al-Maqrizi says that when al-Malik al-Nasir ruled, he set up a teaching circle and jurists in the shrine, and gave it to the jurist al-Baha' al-Dimashqi, who taught at the mihrab behind the tomb 2.
The iwan and the fire
Al-Maqrizi says that the vizier Mu'in al-Din Husayn ibn Shaykh al-Shuyukh ibn Hamuya took charge of the shrine. From its endowments he built the teaching iwan and the houses of the Alawid jurists. The shrine burned in the Salihi years, in one of the years of the 640s AH 2.
