Overview
Al-Tabari relates that in 256 AH the men of the Sahib al-Zanj entered Ahwaz, and took captive Ibrahim ibn al-Mudabbir. 1
Ibn al-Jawzi, on the other hand, relates the entry of the Zanj into Ahwaz in 259 AH, and says that they killed about fifty thousand. 2
The two dates differ between the two sources, and the data does not settle between them.
