A Hadrami family of scholars
Ba 'Abbad was a family of Hadrami mashayikh and scholars, associated with the shrine of the prophet Hud. Among its members were 'Abd Allah b. 'Abd al-Rahman Ba 'Abbad al-Hadrami (d. 687 AH, 1288) and Muhammad b. 'Umar b. Muhammad b. 'Abd al-Rahman (d. 721 AH, 1321), both buried at Shibam. The entry cites al-Shardi's Tabaqat and Serjeant's study of the Saiyids of Hadramawt for two manaqib-works on the family. 1
