Overview
'Abd al-Wahid b. Yusuf b. 'Abd al-Mu'min b. 'Ali, sultan of the Maghrib, Abu Muhammad; he took power the year before, and before the Berber amirs knew it they removed and strangled him in Sha'ban 621 — a nine-month reign. 1
His days
In his days his nephew 'Abdallah b. Ya'qub, called al-'Adil, seized the realm of al-Andalus, met the Franks who routed his army, then lingered at Marrakesh in the worst condition until captured; his brother Idris al-Mamun then ruled al-Andalus until Muhammad b. Hud al-Judhami rose against him calling to the 'Abbasids — the people inclined to him, Idris fled with his host to Marrakesh, where its then-lord Yahya b. Muhammad b. Yusuf met and routed him. 1
