Education
The Dar al-Fuqaha teachers page describes him as a scholar of the Levant, born in 1963, names his teachers as Abd al-Karim al-Mudarris and Abd al-Karim al-Dabban, and records that he is a faculty member in the Department of Usul al-Din at the University of Sharjah, has supervised master's researchers, and has taken part in conferences and seminars. 2
His University of Sharjah profile details his degrees from Baghdad's College of Islamic Sciences: the bachelor's in Islamic Sharia in 1988; the master's in the Prophetic Hadith and its sciences on 21 July 1993, with a thesis on al-Sakhawi's method in his Fath al-Mughith, a commentary on the Alfiyya of hadith; and the doctorate in the Prophetic Hadith and its sciences in 1995, with a thesis editing and studying al-Khatib al-Baghdadi's al-Fasl lil-Wasl al-Mudraj fi al-Naql. 1
His English curriculum vitae on the university site adds that he was an associate professor at Sharjah's College of Sharia and Islamic Studies from 2005 to 2016, and chairman at the College of Sharia and Law in Muscat from 2000 to 2005, and that he has written nine books. 1
Books and studies
His selected publications, as his university profile lists them, include: "Civilisational Aspects in the Purified Prophetic Sunna" (Dubai International Holy Quran Award, 1434 AH/2013); "Prophetic Methods in Treating Marital Problems" (Dar Ibn al-Jawzi, 1426 AH; and Qatar's Ministry of Awqaf, 2008); "Studies in the Purified Sunna" (Dar Ammar, Jordan, 2003); his edition of Ibn Hajar's Nuzhat al-Nazar, the commentary on Nukhbat al-Fikar (Dar Ammar, 1999); and his edition of al-Fasl lil-Wasl al-Mudraj fi al-Naql (Dar Ibn al-Jawzi, 1997). 1
The Dar al-Fuqaha page adds "The Scientific Method for Studying the Sharia, Linguistic and Rational Sciences" among his works, and many studies and participations. His journal studies treat individual hadiths and their chains and rulings, among them a study of the hadith on reciting the Qur'an in a state of major impurity and a study of the hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ's dealings with his daughter Fatima, both published in the journal Ma'alim al-Qur'an wa al-Sunna. 2 1
Teaching and lectures
He has served on fifty committees of Sharjah's College of Sharia, coordinating five of them, and on the preparatory committee of five of the college's conferences, and has supervised master's theses and examined others — including supervising a doctorate in Hadith and its sciences defended at the University of Sharjah in December 2023, according to the university's news report. 1
His recorded lectures circulate on YouTube on other people's channels — no channel of his own was found in this pass — among them a family lecture at the al-Rahman Mosque in Aleppo titled "The Prophet's Method in Dealing with His Family"; he also has articles on Islamic cultural websites, among them one on protection from ageing in the light of the Prophetic hadith. 2
Teaching philosophy
His university profile states his teaching philosophy: combining authenticity and contemporaneity in sources, ideas and means; using discussion and dialogue to convey information; concentrating on the applied aspects a student can use in his life; training the student to solve scholarly problems and to write research; and reviving scholarly integrity. 1
