Overview

Abu Ja'far al-Susi al-Kufi, Ahmad b. 'Umar, of the muhaddiths; Abu 'Ali Ahmad b. Ahmad b. al-Ash'ath al-Kufi related of him that he was with him on the hajj — when he saw the crescent he said "bring me a hundred years"; then he asked for his water, made wudu for the maghrib prayer, entered it, prostrated a sajda whose matter grew long for him — and behold, he was dead. That was in 259. 1
