    Education and work

Daurawa enrolled at Bayero University Kano in 2004 to study mass communication but did not graduate, and then attended a Benin university's Kano branch, which he also did not complete. He founded the Hisbah Corps in Kano and commanded it from 2015 to 2019 — resigning in May 2019 — before Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf returned him to its command in 2023. He presents a radio teaching programme, 'Tambaya Mabudin Ilimi' ('A Question is the Key to Knowledge'), and is known for public interventions: in 2017 he told the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, that his polygamy proposal would violate the Qur'an, and under him the Kano Hisbah barred a radio station from using the phrase 'Black Friday'.12

The English article's text places Daurawa personally 'under the First Aid Group of Jama'atu Izalatil Bidi'a Wa'ikamatis Sunnah known as Izala', and the Hausa article repeats the same statement in nearly the same words; the Sunni and Maliki values rest only on the English article's unreferenced infobox (denomination Sunni, jurisprudence Maliki) travelling with Wikidata's 'Sunni Islam' value, which names no legal school, and no article text names his madhhab.123
