    Summary

Baha' al-Din Ibn Hanna, the singular vizier; among the great men of the age in resolve, judgement, dignity and bearing the burdens of state with religion and integrity, vizier to al-Malik al-Zahir and his son al-Sa'id. 1

    Character and trial

He would accept no gift for anyone unless it came from the poor and righteous, for blessing — among the good things of the age; he built a madrasa in Zuqaq al-Qanadil in Egypt, and was tried by the loss of his two noble sons Fakhr al-Din and Muhyi al-Din, which he bore with patient fortitude. 1
