Summary
Career
She took her doctorate in Islamic studies at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Fez, in 2001, and has been professor of tafsir and Qur'anic sciences at Dar al-Hadith al-Hassaniyya since the same year. 1
She is a member of the executive board of the Rabita Mohammadia of Ulema and of the committee of the Mohammed VI Prize for Islamic Thought and Studies, and a visiting professor at the Mohammed VI Institute for Qur'anic Readings and Studies. 1
No trusted source gives her birth date, so nothing is recorded here about her early life. 1
Works
Her books include "Mafhum al-Ta'wil fi al-Qur'an al-Karim" (The Concept of Interpretation in the Qur'an — a terminological study; third edition, Qur'anic Studies Centre of the Rabita Mohammadia, 2013) and a dictionary of the Qur'anic terms defined in al-Tabari's tafsir (2005). 1
They also include "Mafahim Nabdh al-'Unf didd al-Nisa' fi al-Qur'an al-Karim wa-l-Sunna" (Concepts of Rejecting Violence against Women in the Qur'an and the Sunna, 2017), translated into French and English in 2018, and "Al-Dars al-Mustalahi li-l-Qur'an al-Karim" (The Terminological Lesson of the Qur'an, 2018). 1
Positions and criticism
This section presents what the sources report about her work; it is not the museum's verdict on her or on her opinions.
In her Nama Journal interview she sets out the terminological-study method — its concept, approach and function — holding that it attends to the term inside the text rather than in isolation from it, and that it serves tafsir by fixing the meanings of Qur'anic vocabulary and revealing their conceptual relations. 2
