    Summary

Khalid Al-Jaleel (Khalid bin Fahd Al-Jaleel Al-Mutairi) is a Saudi Qur'an reciter, born in Riyadh in 1963. He holds certificates in the recitation of the Qur'an and in mastery of the ten readings, and he has recorded the whole Qur'an in the Hafs reading. Since Ramadan 2008 he has been the imam and khateeb of the King Khalid Mosque in Riyadh. 1

    Beginnings

Mawdoo3 describes him as one of the most prominent reciters of the Qur'an in Saudi Arabia, distinguished by a sweet voice and a distinctive manner of recitation that influenced his students and spread his fame day by day, until he became one of the best-known reciters of the kingdom and of the Arab world. He obtained a certificate in the recitation of the Qur'an, among several certificates in mastering the ten readings. 1

Imam of the King Khalid Mosque

In Ramadan 2008 the King Khalid Charitable Foundation issued a decision appointing Sheikh Khalid bin Fahd Al-Mutairi as imam and khateeb of the King Khalid Mosque in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, succeeding Sheikh Adel bin Salem Al-Kalbani, who was transferred to the post of imam of the Sacred Mosque in Mecca after more than twenty years as imam and khateeb of the King Khalid Mosque. 1

    Online presence

A group of young admirers built a website for him gathering his works — recitations and supplications in his voice. Mawdoo3 names his official YouTube channel as "the official channel of Sheikh Khalid Al-Jaleel" (youtube.com/user/oo2111), and gives a Facebook account under his name. 1
