He serves as an imam in Jeddah — Mawdoo3 names the Musab bin Umair Mosque — and works as an Islamic-education teacher at the Fifth Model School in Jeddah{cite:source/mawdoo3-mansour-al-salmi}. Career and work

Al Salmi became known for his calm, expressive recitation of the Quran and for short dawah lectures that spread quickly on social media in Saudi Arabia and across the Arab countries{cite:source/mawdoo3-mansour-al-salmi}. Much of his early visibility came from lectures and study sessions he attended alongside the preacher Nayef Al-Sahfi{cite:source/mawdoo3-mansour-al-salmi}. Mawdoo3 reports more than 1.5 million followers on his Instagram account and more than 15 million views on his YouTube channel at the time of its writing{cite:source/mawdoo3-mansour-al-salmi}.

His own YouTube channel (@sheikhmansouralsalmi) describes itself as his official channel and carries his full-surah recitations and lessons{cite:source/youtube-sheikhmansouralsalmi}. Its best-known uploads are the recitations recorded in 1444 AH, among them Surah Al-Baqarah at about 16 million views, Surah Yusuf at about 3.9 million and Surah Al-Kahf at about 3.6 million; platform figures change constantly{cite:source/youtube-sheikhmansouralsalmi}. His recorded nasheeds include "Ayqantu anna Allah yajbir khatiri" (I became certain that Allah mends my heart) and "Ya nafsu tubi" (O soul, repent){cite:source/mawdoo3-mansour-al-salmi}.
