Summary

Abu al-Qasim Said ibn Abi Saʿid al-Janabi (d. 361 AH), ruler of the Qarmatians in Hajar in al-Ahsa in the final years of their state. 1

The end of the house

He died in Jumada al-Akhira of the year 361 AH in Hajar, and the command passed to his brother Abu Yaʿqub Yusuf. No sons of Abu Saʿid al-Janabi survived except him. After Abu Yaʿqub, the Qarmatians' command was entrusted to six of their sons, who shared it among themselves. In this same year, dispatches from the pilgrims arrived reporting that the Banu Hilal had intercepted them and killed a great many people, so the pilgrimage was cancelled for them. None of them was saved except those who went with the Sharif Abu Ahmad al-Musawi by the road to Medina, and so their pilgrimage was completed. 1
