Summary
Sajid Umar — in full Sajid Ahmed Umar — is a British judge, educator and author. He was born in Leicester, UK, and brought up in Harare, Zimbabwe, a place he considers home; there he completed his primary and secondary education, took a first degree in Information Technology, established his own IT business by the age of twenty, and graduated from a Qur'an academy at eighteen. 1 2
Studies and work
He travelled to Riyadh and enrolled at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, completing a diploma in Arabic language and Islamic sciences, a bachelor's degree in Shariah, a master's in Judiciary (Qadha) from the Higher Institute for Judiciary Studies, and a PhD in comparative Islamic law and judiciary, his doctoral work addressing financial risk management between Islamic financial institutions. 1 He is a senior lecturer at Knowledge International University and has served as Director of Islamic Development for Mercy Mission World and as an AlKauthar and Student's Guild lecturer, teaching youth and adult programmes worldwide through masjids, conferences, radio, television and online media. 2 He teaches through his own channel and website under the name Sheikh Dr. Sajid Umar. 1
Positions and faith
This section should be read as a presentation of what the sources give, not as a verdict of the museum.
His official biography and the Muslim Central biography describe degrees in Shariah, judiciary and comparative fiqh and posts with Knowledge International University, Mercy Mission World and AlKauthar. 1 2 Degree subjects, teachers and institutional affiliations are not a school attestation, and no source consulted names a legal school for him personally, so no faith value is recorded for him.
