Shihab al-Din Ahmad ibn Hilal al-Halabi

Shihab al-Din Ahmad ibn Hilal of Aleppo. In earlier days he studied with Shaykh Shams al-Din Ibn al-Kharrat and others, and he had an exceptionally quick mind. He took Sufism from Shams al-Din al-Bilali, then went deeply into the doctrine of the "Unity," called to it, and often uttered ecstatic sayings. He was involved in several incidents. His followers praised him excessively and said that he was "the point of the circle," among other strange sayings. He died in 824 AH 1.
