Summary
Wafaa Abdel Salam is an Egyptian female preacher (wa'iza) at the Ministry of Awqaf, described in press reports as "the first female preacher at the Ministry of Awqaf", working in religious and social awareness addressed to women and girls. 1
Abdel Salam takes part in the ministry's training courses and dawah caravans for female preachers, appears on television programmes, and publishes short dawah clips on her TikTok account. 1 2
Career
Abdel Salam says that her training, and that of the Ministry of Awqaf's female preachers, began in 2017 with courses they had not previously received, that she studied advanced languages, computing and philosophy at the International Awqaf Academy, and that she was among those honoured by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at a Mawlid celebration. 3
In August 2025 she spoke at a training course organised by the Beni Suef Awqaf directorate for female preachers on the issue of indebted men and women (al-gharimin), at the events hall of the Omar ibn Abd al-Aziz Mosque in Beni Suef, with representatives of civil-society institutions including Misr El Kheir taking part. 1
She also appeared on the programme "Ma'a al-Nas" (With the People) on Al-Nas channel, speaking of faith as the first component of victory, in the context of the October War anniversary. 3
She publishes short dawah clips on her TikTok account (@drwafaaofficial), among them a clip titled "Why does God provide for people who disobey Him, while we are observant...?!", whose likes stood at about 27.9 thousand when its metadata was read in May 2026. 2
No YouTube channel of her own was found; her video presence runs through her television appearances and her TikTok account, and no independent biographical source giving a birth date could be verified. 1 2
Works
Her announced preaching work centres on awareness for women and girls; among its subjects at the Beni Suef course were the harms of unnecessary debt, fostering a culture of contentment and moderation, and sound family planning. 1
Her activities include taking part in the Awqaf female preachers' dawah caravans to major mosques across the governorates, and in the ministry's events tied to religious and national occasions. 3
Positions and criticism
This section presents what the sources report about her work; it is not the museum's verdict on her or on her opinions.
Her stated position at the indebtedness course is that the issue of the indebted is not mere financial debt but human and social suffering that affects the family and society negatively, and that Islam is a religion of solidarity and mercy. 1
She holds that the female preachers' role is vital in warning women and girls against unconsidered borrowing, which can lead to the break-up of families. 1
The available sources record no criticism directed at her or at her work. 1
