Overview
Jabala is a coastal town on the coasts of Syria. According to al-Baladhuri it was a fortress of the Romans, who left it when Homs was conquered. Then the Muslims took by force a town two farsakhs from it, and it was ruined and its people left it. Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan founded Jabala and garrisoned it. 1
