Summary
"Samanveren Camii, the Mosque of the Inspector of Straw, was erected by a certain Sinan Ağa who in Fatih's time was an inspector of straw, hence the name. It is a quaint building of brick and stone, with curious leaf-like decorations in brick on what remains of its original minaret; the present minaret, whose arcaded müezzin loggia replaces a şerefe, is part of the modern reconstruction." 1
'The mosque itself sits on the first floor over a vaulted ground floor, a near twin of the neighbouring Timurtaş Camii; both belong to the age of Fatih though neither can be exactly dated.' 2
