Yawm Arafa (the day of Arafa, fiqh)

يَوم عرفة

Yawm Arafa is the ninth of Dhu al-Hijja; the pilgrimage is completed by the standing at Arafa, a pillar established by the Sunna and consensus, so whoever omits it or delays it past its time has lost the pilgrimage. The jurists agree its time ends at the dawn of the day of the sacrifice and differ on when it begins, on whether joining night and day is obligatory, and on whether intention is required. 1 2 3

The earth made a place of prayer and purity

Sha'rawi holds that God made the whole earth a place of prayer and purity for the community of Muhammad, so that prayer is valid in every place. He treats the wrecking of mosques as a very great wrong that brings shame in this world and punishment in the next, and says that the discovery of hidden laws in creation calls for prostration in thanks.
